ASOS Pastel Bunting Bracelet

The pastel trend is definitely my favourite for this season, and when i spotted this bracelet on asos, i knew it was the perfect accessory to accompany my spring wardrobe. I loved the combination of the candy colours, and its edgy design. It doesn't look too girly or delicate, which can often be the case when it comes to pastel accessories.

I think its the perfect statement piece for Spring and Summer. The pastel colours are gorgeous and for £8.00, its a great piece to update your look for Spring. I highly recommend checking out asos for some unique accessories this Spring- i found a multitude of things on their website that i loved!

Revlon Lip Butters Review

I have been waiting for these to arrive in the UK, ever since i had first seen them on YT! Revlon released their new line of 'lip butters' in Boots last week, so i took part in the 3 for 2 offer and decided to try a few colours. I purchased; 'Cotton Candy', 'Strawberry Shortcake' and 'Peach Parfait'. I just love the names of the colours- they sound good enough to eat! The shade range consists of fourteen varied shades, from light nudes, to deep berry reds.

I love the packaging, and i think it's really nice for a drugstore product especially. I always like anything quilted or Chanel-esque! I also like how the packaging co-ordinates with the colour of the lip butter.

L-R: Cotton Candy, Strawberry Shortcake and Peach Parfait
L-R: Strawberry Shortcake, Cotton Candy and Peach Parfait

'Cotton Candy' is a warm toned pink, with a subtle hint of golden shimmer. 'Strawberry Shortcake' is a lighter, more milky pink shade, with no shimmer and 'Peach Parfait' is, as the name would suggest, a light, peachy coral with a subtle hint of shimmer. It's also the colour that Emma Stone is wearing in the advertisement pictures. I think its my favourite colour out of the three that i have tried so far, and it reminds me of my NARS Orgasm blush a lot- they look great worn together!

The formula of these is great. They are very smooth and creamy, and moisturise the lips whilst providing a nice amount of colour too. They also give a lovely, glossy sheen. The pigmentation is perfect for everyday wear- they're lighter than a typical lipstick, yet more pigmented than your average lip balm. They're so easy to wear and apply- you don't even need a mirror! Whilst there not as good as my Chanel Rouge Coco Shines, they are definitely one of the best drugstore lip-balm/lip-stick products that i have tried, and for £7.99 the quality is excellent.

Overall, i'm really impressed with these and will definitely be trying some more colours from the line. I have my eye on Macaroon and Cupcake next! They're the perfect lip products for Spring and Summer as they're so light, moisturising and come in a great range of flattering colours.

Estee Laduer Skincare Review- Serums & Scrubs

I promised in my recent Estee Lauder haul, that i would review all of the skincare items i showed, and after a few months of using them, i'm ready to give an in-depth review. In a nutshell, i really like them, and i have definitely noticed a significant difference in my skins condition and appearance.

Estee Lauder Idealist Dual Action Refinishing Treatment £35.50

Facial scrubs are a big part of my skincare routine, and responsible for making my skin clearer and smoother. They're also great at reducing the appearance of acne scars, as they encourage the growth of new, bright skin cells. This scrub in particular, works very well for my skin type. It contains the active ingredient, glycolic acid, which provides the skin-renewing benefits of both Micro-Dermabrasion and a 30% Glycolic Peel. I would say its a medium-strength exfoliator, but is still very gentle and smooth on the skin. It also has a thermal, heating action on the skin which subsides after a minute or so. Im not really sure what this feature achieves as it only lasts for a minute, but its feels nice to use nonetheless. I use it after cleansing, and massage it into my skin using circular motions. It's then advised to be left on the skin for five minutes, just like a face mask, and then rinsed off- i'm guessing this gives time for the 'peel' to work its magic. I then follow with serum and moisturiser. I use it twice a week, and i don't use my Clarisonic on the days that i use it- it's best not to overdo it. Immediately after each use, my skin is smoother and ultra-clean. The next day, my skin always looks brighter and clearer. Over a few weeks of use, my acne scars have definitely reduced in redness and size, which is fantastic. However, the Night Repair Serum is also a significant factor in the reduction of my acne scars. Although, the smoothness this product provides, is enough to make it a great product alone. I highly recommend this exfoliator if you have oily skin or scars/hyper-pigmentation from previous acne.

Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator £46.00 30ml

I received a deluxe sample size of this serum, with a gift-with-purchase. It's a serum aimed at reducing the look of uneven skin tone: blotchiness, blemish marks, dark spots and discoloration.  I've been using this each morning before applying my makeup. It works really well as a primer, as it contains brightening properties and helps to smooth my skin before using foundation. Im not sure how well it has reduced scarring, i think the Advanced Night Repair has achieved better results in terms of scarring than this. But if you want something to prep and prime your skin, after cleansing and before makeup, then i do recommend this. It brightens and smoothes the skin, but for scarring and long-term benefits, i would suggest the Advanced Night Repair Serum instead. Im not sure whether i would purchase the full size of this product- maybe if i wanted a primer for my makeup. But at the moment, i don't feel as though it's a must-have.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum £41.00 30ml

This is the product that his impressed me the most, and i think, the one that is responsible for the improvement of my acne scars. I have read endless reviews on makeupalley.com, and lots of people have found it improved their scarring and hyper-pigmentation too. This is also a deluxe sample size, and i have been using it every night. In the morning my skin looks much brighter and clearer, and it also seems to 'heal' my skin- if i ever have any blemishes, they clear up straight away. In the long-term i have noticed a great improvement in my acne scars- they are now less red and smaller in size. Some are virtually gone! I really believe this works wonders for the skin and i have never been so impressed with a skin care product before! Within just two weeks, i had noticed a huge improvement. If your looking for something to hydrate the skin, and improve its appearance- whether you deal with scars, hyper-pigmentation, dryness or sun damage, i highly recommend this. Obviously i can't comment on it's anti-aging properties, but in terms of scar-reducing it's fantastic! I also love that it's: non-acnegenic, fragrance-free and dermatologist tested, which is great for my sensitive skin. I will definitely be investing in the full size of this amazing product soon. The results are fantastic.

Estee Lauder Day Wear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15 Normal/Combination £37.00

Last but not least, i have also been using the Estee Lauder Day Wear moisturiser. I apply this each morning, after the idealist serum, and before putting on my makeup. The first thing i noticed was the smell- it has a very refreshing cucumber scent which is especially nice in the morning.  It  hydrates and smoothes my skin very well, without irritating it. I love the fact that it preps my skin before makeup, hydrates my skin and it doesn't break me out- which is a great achievement for my sensitive skin! Again, this is something that i would definitely repurchase in the full size.

Overall, i am thoroughly impressed with Estee Lauders skincare line- in particular the Advanced Night Repair Serum and the Day Wear Anti-Oxidant Creme. My skin has definitely improved since using all of these products, with the biggest change being the reduction of blemishes and acne scars. I think a lot of people have preconceptions about Estee Lauder. Although it was once marketed towards a mature age group, they offer some fantastic products that young skin-types can really benefit from. I never would have thought to try the Advanced Night Repair Serum before- i thought it was just for wrinkles, but works excellently for acne scars! Most importantly, their products work, and are very reasonably priced.

New Turquoise Converse for Spring

You guessed it... their pastel! I just can't get enough of the pastel shades at the moment! I couldn't help myself when i saw the new Converse Spring collection- this turquoise shade is just gorgeous! I had also seen one of my favourite bloggers sporting them (click here!), who has amazing style and i just loved the way she paired them. Converse are great, for everyday casual wear and this turquoise colour nails the pastel trend. They will be perfect to wear to college as their renowned for comfort, and effortless style. They look great paired with my pastel jeans and slouchy, light-weight jumpers for Spring.

You can find these at Schuch for £42.00. However, with 10% student discount, they were only £37.00. You can also find them at ASOS, Next, Office and Footlocker. I have found that different stores have different names for the colour, mine were named turquoise, but other stores have named them Aruba Blue and Mint. They all seem to be the same colour, but just named differently.

The colour is perfect for Spring, and they add a touch of 'chic' to the classic Converse!  I can't wait to start wearing them and pair them with my favourite pastel jeans for everyday, college attire.

Pastel Nail Colours For Spring 2012

You all know how much i have been loving pastels lately- clothes, makeup and even macaroons! I thought that i would compile a selection of my favourite pastel nail polishes, and share my favourites with you.

Dior Waterlily, Chanel May & Chanel June

Both Chanel and Dior released some beautiful nail shades with their Spring collections this year. Dior's 'Waterlily' is the only green to sport this Spring! It's such a unique, soft green colour with very subtle golden shimmer. It also has a light rose scent, which makes it even more of a pleasure to apply. It't the perfect minty/leaf green shade. Chanel's new Spring shade 'May' is another gorgeous pastel colour. It's a candy floss pink, with a creamy, high-gloss finish. 'June' is a pastel apricot/peach, with a creamy finish.

OPI Pink Friday, OPI Mod About You & OPI Rumple's Wiggin

OPI also have a great range of pastel shades, and their formula is my favourite. OPI is the most long-wearing nail polish brand that i have found, and the easiest to apply. 'Pink Friday' was released with their recent Nicki Minaj collection, and is a gorgeous baby-pink cream. 'Mod About You' is an OPI classic and one of my all-time favourite nail colours. It's another light pink with a white tint, but very opaque and compliments a summer tan perfectly. It really 'pops' against tanned skin. 'Rumples Wiggin' was released a few years ago with the Shrek collection. It's a lavender/lilac shade with a creamy finish and an ideal shade for the pastel trends.

Essie Fiji and Essie Ballet Slippers

Last but not least i have some pastel shades from Essie, and whilst their formula is not my favourite, they do have some great shades. 'Fiji' is very similar to OPI's 'Mod About You', and is a creamy, opaque pale pink. Again, it looks gorgeous with tanned skin. 'Ballet Slippers' is another great shade and ideal for any occasion. It's a classic milky, sheer pink which makes your nails look well-groomed and tidy. It's a great shade if you want to sport the pastel trend, but with something a little more conservative and versatile than a mint green for example. It also goes with any outfit!

Let me know what your favourite pastel nail colours are- i can't get enough of them! Next on my wish list is Mavala's 'Blue Lagoon'- a creamy, pale blue.

Currently Loving: Too Faced Natural Eye Palette

This month i have been loving the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette- i've been using it everyday! I love the selection of neutral, warm-toned shades that can easily be worn during the day at school, or for a dramatic night-time look. I love neutral eyeshadow palettes, and this one is definitely a favourite of mine. I love having a selection of colours in one place, and this palette comes with three how-to cards, so even beginners can perfect the 'natural-eye' look.

The palette contains three matte shades and six shimmery shades. They have such a smooth, soft texture and are so easy to blend. They are also beautifully pigmented. They don't have any fall out either, which is something that i do find a problem with the Urban Decay palettes. As you can see, the palette is arranged into separate looks that each correspond with the how-to cards. You really can't go wrong! 'Silk Teddy' is one of my all time favourite eyeshadows- ever! I have a single eyeshadow duo from Too Faced in the shade 'Totally Toasted' which contains 'Silk Teddy', but sadly it's discontinued. 'Silk Teddy' is a gorgeous all-over lid shade which really brightens the eyes. It's a nudey-champagne with hints of golden shimmer- very similar to the iconic Stila 'Kitten' shade.

My favourite combination recently, has been Silk Teddy all over the lid (of course!), Push Up in the crease, Sexspresso in the outer-v and Heaven on the brow-bone/inner-corner.

Top Row Left to Right;
Erotica, Honey Pot, Heaven,Velvet Revolver, Sexspresso
Bottom Row Left to Right;
Nude Beach, Silk Teddy, Push-Up and Cocoa Puff.

I highly recommend this palette if your looking for versatile colours that can easily be used for day and night looks. The colours are very flattering for all skin tones and excellent quality. If like me, your a fan of brown smokey eyes (i rarely wear anything other than this!), then you will adore this palette.
You can find this palette at Boots, and online at beautybay.com for roughly £26.00.

Lunch at Laduree

Yesterday i spent the day in London, to celebrate my mum's birthday. We did a bit of shopping (of course!) and also went to Laduree at Harrods, for some lunch and macaroons.

To see my OOTD- click here.

Laduree was beautiful. The food, the decor, the atmosphere, and of course, the macaroons! Harrods now has it's own Laduree tearoom, serving lunch, afternoon tea and a full a la carte menu. The decor was beautiful, and the counter filled to the brim with a gorgeous array of pastel macaroons, cakes and pastries. The walls were covered with shelving, each displaying the iconic pastel, Laduree boxes. Me and mum were seated upstairs, and had a great view of the tearoom below. Mark Francis (from E4's Made In Chelsea) was actually seated behind us. For any MIC fan's, he was extremely pompous and arrogant- dahhhhling! The setting was just so cute and parisian. I would love to visit Laduree in Paris one day. Me and mum had the Club Laduree with salad and fries, and then we just had to try the macaroons too. They were delicious! I tried the lemon, raspberry and salted caramel flavour. They were so good- no other macaroons can compete!

Florian Green Tea with Jasmine Flowers in Silked Teabags
Harrods

We also had a wander around Harrods Food Hall, and found a lovely stand of Green Tea's. The lady gave us a sample of their Green Tea with Jasmine to try, and we loved it! So we purchased a box of the Florian Green Tea with Jasmine Flowers to take home. Besides English Breakfast Tea, i have never tried any other varieties, so i'm so glad that we tried this! It's very refreshing and makes a nice change to my usual flavour of tea. I love the cute box too! I always enjoy looking around Harrod's food department at all of the lovely counters!

We also stopped at the Godiva counter to pick up some Rosace Pralines, that we had been wanting to try.

We also went into H&M and i picked up this mint green peplum top for Spring. As you all know, i'm loving the pastel trends at the moment and this is perfect. The peplum shape is very on-trend too. Besides the colour, i love the fitted style and exposed zip. It's a great staple piece for any Spring wardrobe, whether you pair it with it skinnies or a pastel skirt.

Pastel NOTD: OPI Rumples Wiggin

This is one of my favourite nail colours for Spring 2012. OPI's 'Rumple's Wiggin' is a creamy lavender shade, with a glossy, high-shine finish. It was released with OPI's Shrek collection a few years ago, but you can still find it online. As a result of my new love for pastel colours, i have been raiding my nail polish collection, and hunting for any pastel colours that i had forgotten about. This is definitely one of them, and i can already tell, that i will be wearing it a lot this spring! It's such a gorgeous pastel shade, and compliments my mint green skinnies so well!

As with all of my nail polishes, i applied three coats of the polish, after my Seche Vite Base Coat. I finished off with OPI's 'Teenage Dream' on my ring finger and finally, the China Glaze 'No Chip' Top Coat.

This colour was limited edition, but i believe there are a few online retailers that still stock this colour. If not, there are many similar colours around at the moment.

Let me know what your favourite pastel nail colours are!
